Chloe's Birthday

Well, I haven't updated in.... MONTHS! So this is long overdue.

We celebrated Chloe's 1st birthday 3 times... just like we did with Noah. Our first celebration was with family in Punxsy. It was a lovely party, although practically no one from Kenton's family could attend. But Grandma and Grandpa White, and Uncles and Aunts, and Great-Grandpa White and Pyllis were able to be there, so that was wonderful! Most of my side was able to attend, so we had a good turn out.

Here is a picture of her cake. They really had major limitation on cakes up in good old Punxsutawney... but I went with the Princess cake... for out little princess.
Here is Chloe sitting in her seat getting ready for the big cake event.
Here comes the smasher cake!!!!
Chloe with her goofy grin... giving the cake a try... but no smashing for her.

We then had a party at home on her actual birthday. We had our neighbors over for cake and ice cream.
I made my very first, all from scratch, cake. It was delicious!! It was a german chocholate cake with buttercream icing. I filled the layers with yummy chocolate ganache! Couldn't believe that I made it all myself, even if the decorating could have gone a little better. Not bad for my very first attempt!

After the 2nd party, we then had the big party for friends here in Maryland! I spent about an entire week working on her cake. It once again was german chocolate, because it was so good the first time around. I made a 3-tiered princess castle cake with buttercream filling and yummy fondant. I made every single bit of it from scratch, and it was so much work, but so much fun!!!!

Here is a picture of some of the decorations for the big day!

Chloe giving her cake a try... she was still not a big fan.

Noah however will NEVER pass up cake! He loved all of the parties, and was sad when it all came to an end... since that meant no more cake!!!

It is very hard for us to believe that she is 1 already! My baby is no longer a baby. :(
But we have so much more to look forward to... and we can't wait to see what is around the corner here in the The White House!
